Automatic drawing is an artistic technique developed by surrealists in which the hand is allowed to move randomly across the paper. In applying chance and accident drawing is freed of rational control. Hence the drawing produced may be attributed in part to the subconscious and may reveal something of the psyche, which would otherwise be repressed.
My surreal automatic drawings are painted using archival, lightfast, pigmented ink and watercolor on 11 3/4 x 9 inch unstretched canvas. Image size is 10 x 8 inches unless stated otherwise, and will fit in a standard 10 x 8 inch frame. All materials used are artist quality.
