This is my very easy, potent cannabutter recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter (4 sticks)
  • 1 ounce dried cannabis flowers

Preheat oven to 230 F.

Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.

Parchment paper makes clean up easy.
Silicone mats are very difficult to clean and will get very sticky over time.

Grind one ounce of dried cannabis flower. Use the strain appropriate for your medical condition. I prefer a high thc content indica as it is very relaxing. Sativa strains have been known to cause anxiety in some people.

A coffee grinder is the easiest and most efficient method for grinding dried cannabis flowers.

Bake in a 230 F oven for one hour and fifty minutes (110 C for 110 minutes) no more, no less. This is referred to as decarbing.

Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes.

Place 1 pound of butter (4 sticks) in an oven safe pot. For best results melt the butter and skim the milk fat off the top (clarified butter) before adding the prepared cannabis.

Add decarbed cannabis to the butter. Cover and bake at 200 F for 2 hours.

Remove from oven and strain. I prefer a wire mesh tea strainer.

Strain butter.

When the butter has cooled store in the refrigerator.

Add cannabutter to coffee or tea and consume on an empty stomach. You will begin to feel the effects in 1-2 hours.
